Yeah I'm in the same boat with Hyundai unfortunately.

I'm using it on a Droid X 2.2.1, and haven't had any issues at all with the adapter, including dropped connections.

Unfortunately the DTC's are Diagnostic Trouble Codes, aka things that will make the check engine light come on. PID's are different 🙁
