Post Value and Units Concatenated
on: January 5, 2018 (GMT)

I have created three Altitude equations
using Baro() and two custom baro pids.

In support of these displays I have three
Baro Adjust pids which contain a numeric
constant for correcting each baro to match
national weather service reported values.

While the digital displays appear correct,
when adding the displays I noticed that
while scrolling to pick pid to add, the value
presented looked like a rounded value followed
by the “Units” text. Torquescan also displayed
the same way.

Example:

A value of 0.9951 listed as 1 “Units” text.

Edit:

Emailed Ian screen captures showing the
issue described above.

Hi!

The previews were mostly limited to 2 decimal places in the ‘add display’ menu – I’ve had a play with this tonight and it should show more decimal places for other displays now (whilst still trying to be sensible for some other display previews)

I’ll probably do the same to the plugin when I get to finishing that update as well

For picking pid two digits of precision
would be okay. Its the last four digits
being the units label text that is the
main point of interest 0133, 1127 and
1442. Not sure why this is happening.

This can be seen in screen captures I have
emailed you.

Thanks for investigating.

Hi!

The display preview shows the value and the units after them

So for speed, the display would show something like:

OBD Speed
128 mph

but instead of valid units, you have an identifier of 0133, 1127 and 1442 instead of something like ‘mb’ (it shows it in the pid editor screenshot you sent)

so it is showing the value and unit in the preview – something like:

OBD Speed
128 0133 {value} {unit}

because it’s a number, you don’t really see the seperation due to the font used on the handset, so in most cases it looks like one long number (there is a space there, it’s just smaller than what you might expect given the font)

Thanks for pointing that out. Another senior
moment on my part that I should have seen.

Sorry for the mistake on my part.

(Without a space(s) between my numeric
units, Torquescan and Track Recorder adding
displays appear as one long number).

Edited.

No problem! – I’ve just updated the beta (1.8.194) so hopefully you should get the update in the next few hours once google finish processing it!
