Post strange issue with adapter

i had a cheap bluetooth adapter that worked great for about a year.

It went bad, so I bought another one. this one connects, but it only responds one time to the adapter then never updates again.

I bought the same exact adapter from the same company but this wasn’t an issue before.

Anyone have any idea? i see the green light when it connects, I get the connection fine, then wait for the profile to load, it says ‘ECU connected ok’, i get one reading and it never updates again unless I disable bluetooth from the phone and turn it back on. then it does the same. reads once then never again.

I found my problem.

My new adapter was bad.

I definitely recommend these though. I found them on eBay for .19 and no shipping. i don’t care if one goes bad from time to time or not.

I ordered 3. Actually I ordered 4, but one i got on Amazon for .00 because i wanted it now. The ones I list above are shipped from China and i’m sure it’ll take a week or two to arrive. But for the price of a starbucks coffee? yeah i think I’m ok.

I want to have a couple backups and verify they work because when my original one finaly bit the dust i was bugged waiting for the replacement.

it lasted 1.5 years though so for the price you just simply can’t beat them.

Why such stress ? China products should not be supported.
Its bad terminated with canbus and many other issues.
Buy never the cheapest ….

ELM327 Bluetooth Original ELM327 2.2 Genuine ELM Electronics chip

This is the only genuine ELM Canada chip adapter I know of, no cheap Chinese clone. I have purchased this adapter and it tests out as v2.2, according to the ID app, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applagapp.elm327identifier&hl=en
