piemmm,
the program Torque Pro can not connect to the USB adapter with CP2102, while the programs from the example on the link connect to this adapter normally, It may be necessary to rewrite the principle of connecting to adapters according to this example
In this example there are drivers for all types of converters

Hi!

FTDI and CP21x ELM327 adapters have been supported by the app for some years – the last change to this was about 2 years ago when I updated the driver for it

I’ll re-test the CP drivers when I get the adapter out of storage(moving house) but it should already be working

Hi!

Can you send me the USB PID and VID for the device (Product ID and Vendor ID) – they’re usually somewhere in the device managerin windows, and in linux ‘lsusb’ will provide the information easier. In OS X, use the ‘system profiler’ tool and navigate to the USB section to get the vendor and product IDs

It should look like 0x065b and (probably) 0x2102 (if they’re not then that’s also useful)

Also do you have an ebay link to the exact adapter at all?

Hi!

Thanks – I have the CP2102 board on order now and I should be able to verify/fix/update/etc when I get my hands on it, and get you up and running!

Hi!

FTDI support is working perfectly (this I know does work perfectly as it’s one of the things I test on each release) – is it definitely a FTDI adapter he’s using (what are the PID and VIDs for the usb device?)

Check that the baud rate option is set to ‘Automatic’. For USB adapter this should always work, and also make sure that the USB device has been selected in the settings (not just set to USB, you have to scroll down and select the actual USB device as well)

Quit and restart, plug the adapter in again, and the app should fire up and he should then be up and running!

I sent you yesterday a log of debugging on my FTDI adapter, it is selected in the program, the speed is set automatically, but also writes a message that the speed is incorrectly selected

noticed :) won’t be in the minor update – there’s a bit of work to update the serial library I’m currently using (or a lot of work ripping it out and getting the new one in and making sure it’s fast enough)
