Hi,

I bought an OBD2 bluetooth reader (ELM327) off of eBay the other day. I installed Torque Lite on my phone and am happy with it.

With the reader came one of those small CDs that usually get tossed in the bin if everything works, but for some reason I decided to take a look at what was on the CD, and there I found this:

20859453 júl 15 2014 DashCommand v4.2.1 (DEMO).apk
2790262 apr 29 2015 OBD Car Doctor v4.12.apk
3793003 ágú 21 2014 Torque_Pro v.1.6.34_P??????.apk
5657338 sep 17 2014 Torque_Pro v1.8.16.apk

Should I assume that these are illegal versions of Torque Pro?

I know the dates on the CD are weird, but the version numbers aren’t very far off…

What say thee?

They are illegal. And who knows what other unwanted things might be in them.

For what Lan charges for Torque Pro (4.95 dollars) – and single handedly supports the App providing FOREVER free updates along with this website, we should all buy about ten copies from the App store.

If you are happy with the ‘Lite’ version, you would go nuts over the full version.

Thanks – I did suspect as much.

The €3-4 isn’t a problem for me – I only need the stuff to read the error message when one of our cars bork :)

And… wow.

Shelled out the half a cup of coffee’s worth for the pro version and got probably ten times worth that.
