Post 2016 Ford F53 Chassis PIDs
on: May 11, 2017 (GMT)

My Ford F53 Chassis motorhome is powered by the 6.8L 3-valve V10 (Gas). I would like to have PIDs for Transmission Gear, EOT and Oil Pressure (There is a gauge for oil pressure on the instrument panel.) Does anyone know how to get these gauges to operate in Torque. On my 2004 Ford F53, I did have a functioning trans gear dial, but not on my current one for some reason.
Thanks in advance.

You might search the forum and web for the
Ford 6.7 pids which might work on your late
model Ford.

Thanks Capp777. Actually I think all of the PIDs that were created in that link that you provided are now in the Extended Ford PIDs that you can add to the torque list. Unfortunately for the gas V10 there aren’t that many of those PIDs that work. And there doesn’t seem to be anything that’s been done that expands the Ford list for the V10. From what I can gather trying to create my own gauges for my motorhome, there’s not a lot in that list that pertains to the ECU or the parameters on the V10. I had a 2004 Ford Chassis with the older V10 and just figured that on this later engine that there would be more available or more data that the ECU would be able to provide for monitoring purposes. Possibly the extended Ford PID list has just gotten stagnant. I’m hoping there might be something that’s been done since this was created that would be applicable to my set up. Thanks again for your help.

Did you test 22F45C for a response?

and maybe 221E12?

Most of the Ford predefined pids are mostly
for the older diesels with some that work for
gassers. I believe Ian did add TFT for the newer
ISO based Fords to the list.

The 6.7 list was created because the pids were
not in the predefined list.

Notice for the 6.7 that the OBD pids were reported
with 22F4xx.

Please pardon my lack of expertise here, but in the predefined Ford PIDS, I don’t see 22F45C or 221E12, and I don’t know of a way to test the base Torque PID list. Is there a way to do that I’m not aware of? Thanks

You would need to create custom pids
for each. Then while connected to your
vehicle and in the pid editor, test to
see the raw hex response for the pid.

The link provided above has the details
for 22F45C.
