I just got an elm327 and it hooked up and read fine on my work truck (2014 Toyota Tacoma) but will not connect to my 2003 Dodge Durango’s ECU. Is there anyway to fix this or did I get a bad adapter? It links to my phone fine just not my Dodge.

According to obd2 website some Chrysler/jeep/dodges use KWP2000 protocol which is not included on the vehicle profile specifications list. Could this be the dodge problem? As I am reading there’s alot of dodge issues with torque.

Some of the cheap clones don’t work
with the older protocols like J1850 (10.4 VPW)
and ISO 9141-2 which your vehicle likely
uses.

As always I could be wrong.

I seem to have gotten the clone that only works on Asian manufactured vehicles. I’ve tried it on 3 Dodges and 4 Chevys with no luck……Toyota, Nissan, and Hyundai all worked though.

Interestingly enough I just found this. Might help someone else.
