apologies for the previous basic question, now for the next one.

I can get the header on the predefined list set to show, but when I press on it, nothing pops up , the screen stays blank.

Im using a csv file, do i need to save it in a certain way etc?

Really new to this. thanks for any ideas.

There should be a file called Other.csv which
can be copied and used as a template for your
.csv file. My files are saved as UTF-8 decoded to
get the ° symbols to work.

As far as I know it is just a simple text file with
each field matching the form the template uses.

Torque will ignore anything else I believe. (I have
embedded comments throughout my files).

Edited.

thanks for the reply.

So i take the ‘other’ file which I can see and use as a template. google is about to explode ive been trying to figure this stuff out.

not sure how i set that up as a template? Do i need a specific program?

Thanks for any replies.

I would make a copy using your phones file
tools…

then send the copy via bluetooth to your pc
as a .txt file.

Edit the file on your pc as a .txt using Word.

Copy, paste then edit additional pids as needed.

Save as a UTF-8 decoded .txt file.

Then send back to phone via bluetooth (renaming
back to .csv along the way).

Move the newly created .csv file to the extendedpids
hidden folder.

Now when you go back to add a predefined pid set
within Torque, it should be listed with the other sets.

Once you have a working file on your pc then
you can copy it for any future files.

I have created my own files for all of my custom
pids so I only have to type once.

Note that Ian has recently added a way to save
pids from Torque.

Thanks again.

Ive got a file which is already in a formatand not sure what im suppose to do with it from an editing point of view.

its this file

https://github.com/SubaruDieselCrew/ParsePID/blob/master/data/Subaru_mode22_def.csv

it seems complete and not sure how the template would relate to it if at all.

That list appears to identify parameters
for that vehicle but is not in the form that
Torque uses:

Example:

Long Name: Must be unique
Short Name: Used in displays
Header: 7E0
Mode/Pid: 22xxxx
Equation: ((A*256)+B)*(9/50)-40
Scale: x1
Min: 0
Max: 100
Units: °F
Diagnostic Start Command: leave blank
Diagnostic Stop Command: leave blank

in the text format shown by Other.csv.

thank you for your patience
