Hello,
-I bought torque pro and having the last version.
-my phone is LG G4 with android 6.0
Used a lot an elm327 bluetooth adapter in the past with my pc and also torque without any problems.
I broke my elm….
So, it’s not my very first time with this kind of stuff.
Recently I bought a new one but USB cable.
It’s not a genuine elm chip but is one of a good clone.
By the way, it has a genuine FTDI chip inside.
I’m using it on my pc without problems, also using with specific FIAT software and performed all kind of diagnose and parameters adjustment all over CAN networks.
Everything fine.
I’m saying this to ‘prove’ the adapter is working just fine.

Today the usb OTG cable has arrived and tried to connect to torque with NO success.
-I connected the elm327 to the phone and a pop-up appeared asking to start torque pro
-Leds on elm blinks as torque starts. (actually only 2 out of 4, where with PC all 4 blink)
-I go to the adapter settings, switched to USB, then down to usb settings
-On device selection appears “Generic FTDI USB to serial device (6001)
At this point on the main screen of torque, the adapter icon goes from blue to orange/yellow constantly and then this message appears:
“No response from OBD Adapter, did you select the right baud rate?”
I selected the automatic then default 38400 then 9600 then all speeds possible but it won’t work.
So i’m blocked at the point torque seems to cannot communicate with the elm327
I connected the adapter to the OBD port and nothing happens, turned on the dash….nothing, started the engine….nothing.
With the PC i can communicate to the adapter even if it is not connected to the car as it is powered only from usb, not obd port.
The phone support the OTG feature, as i also connected with success a pendrive (memory), a mouse, a keyboard
What can i do?
could be any permission problem?
Like, usb host starts but torque has no permission to communicate trought usb devices if not a generic storage/pointer/keyboard?
thank you.

now the strange part:
1-If I just connect the adapter to the phone it is powered and phone asks to start torque.
If I plug it first to the obd port and then to the phone, the elm doesn’t power up at all and also the phone doesn’t ‘see’ that a device is plugged.
Same thing if i power the elm with a 12v source and the connect to the phone. it won’t power up.
2- Everytime i go into torque settings an android message pop-up non-stop saying “no deviced paired, please go to bluetooth settings to pair a device”
even if a usb connection is selected in torque.
