Post Tundra Fuel Level PID
on: January 24, 2017 (GMT)

I am trying to use a Fuel Level PID I got from here. I set it up in Torque Pro and ran a test on it. The value it returned seemed pretty accurate, however I can’t get it to display as a gauge. Any ideas?
And how do I attach a photo on here?
Thanks.

It looks like an unsuccessful
response 7F…?

Thanks for the reply. Where is it getting the value from? Another code pops up in the response area for at least a second every once in a while while running the test

Maybe more than one module is
responding to your pid request?

In that screenshot I attached where the response number is, it alternates between the one you see there and 61297E about every 5 seconds. The Caluculation it is coming up with is right on as far as fuel level is concerned though.

If you can figure out which module is
responding the header can be set specifically
for that module.

6121297E is a successful response for that pid.
The last byte 7E is the data.

What protocol is your vehicle using?

Not sure, I will have to check. It’s a 2008 Tundra. Sorry I’m pretty new at this.
Thanks for your help.

Look under Adapter Status icon functions
for protocol in use.

7E0 for CAN.

fuel level may be taken from the block address 7C0 of the Instrument panel unit
You know exactly that PID 2129?

No, that was the pid from the prius forum.

I will try to clarify the desired PID
it needs to be done in the terminal several requests
and give me an answer to these requests

Upload your photo to TinyPic.com, use the image button above, then enter the TinyPic URL inside the “img” “/img” separators.

I tried all of those and the only 2 that got responses were a801 and a802. After I ran those I put pid 2129 back in and it was working perfectly. Then after a few trips this afternoon, it quit again. The thing is calculating fuel level perfectly when you run test in the manage pid menu. I just filled up and it showed 26.383, the tank on my tundra is 26.4.

When it is getting a calculated value the response is coming from 6129AD, does that help?

if the PID is correct, I would apply the formula
A * 120/255, litres

I’ll give that a shot. Any idea why it can calculate a value, but won’t show when I add a gauge to my screen for it?

Probably not likely but I have to ask…
any chance that you are not using the
correct long name when adding the
display? I would even suggest deleting
the gauge and re-adding just to be sure.

Also, if you have Torquescan, what is it
showing?

Used that in the Start Command and it’s working. Should I put something in the stop command as well?
Thanks
