Post Trip Computer Reset - Local or ECU?

Hi,

I’m new to Torque and have used only a few of the functions so far, one area that interests me is the Trip / MPG features. I’m a bit worried about resetting the trip info (average mpg etc) as I’m not sure if this is a function local to the app, or if it actually sets something in the car ECU? I’m worried as I have a cheap clone EML327 and am not sure what it’ll do to my car if it tries to write something to the OBD interface as opposed to reading.
