Post 2016 Nissan Titan XD issues
on: October 17, 2016 (GMT)

I have a 2016 Nissan Titan XD with the Cummins diesel engine. I purchased the BAFX adapter from Amazon for use with Torque Pro on my Samsung Note 4. I’m having several issues which I’m not sure are really Torque problems but I’m hoping that someone here has some pointers.

First, leaving my adapter plugged in while the truck is off causes a CEL when I start it. Unplugging the adapter and cycling the ignition 2 or 3 times usually clears the CEL.

Torque log:

Vehicle Manufacturer: Nissan
Vehicle Calibration ID: 23710EZ42A
NOx-SAE14a ATI1 NOx-SAE14a ATO1 010201400090
GCUBDB325

Pending Fault Log
------------------
ECU reports no pending faults

Historic Fault Log
------------------
ECU reports no historic faults
Other discovered fault codes
(possibly pending, current or manufacturer specific)
----------------------------------------------------
ECU reports no other fault codes logged

End of report

I also get weird behavior from time to time like my truck will tell me to watch for icy road conditions but its over 70F outside!

The adapter works fine in other vehicles. BAFX support has been no help so far.

Any ideas?

Have you created a vehicle profile specific
for your truck and set the correct protocol
instead of auto search?

Look under adapter status icon functions to
see if any errors are occurring…should be zero.

I have created a profile but have not set a protocol. I’ll try that.

Setting the protocol in the profile seems to have resolved my problem. I am cautiously optimistic, but its been good now for 2 days.

For anyone interested the protocol is ISO 15765-4 CAN(11bit 500k baud)

Hi,

I have the same truck(2016 Nissan Titan XD) and trying to find an OBD reader using my Torque pro. So far my OBDII 327 ELM Mini reader with Torque Pro is not providing any of the essential Diesel engine reading. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations please? Greatly appreciated any help.

Thank you
Peyton
