Anyone have the PID for Engine Oil Pressure for Ford 6.0 powerstroke? The app doesn’t have oil pressure as a default option.
Thanks

If you are talking “low side oil pressure”, there isn’t one. The gauge that is on the dash for oil pressure is a switch. In other words, “is there pressure?” The gauge reads yes or no.

As for high pressure, ICP and IPR are used for that. And there are PIDs for both.

Can torque read the cylinder balance rates? This would be extremely helpful for determining if you have an injector related problem and which injector is misfiring.

I know the edge insight can read this for certain vehicles and pretty sure the 6.0 supports it because I’ve done cylinder balance tests with a snap on scanner

Can someone please post the equations for ECT and Trans temp for 06 6.0 powerstroke? I have been using the gauges for a week or so with no problems and now all the sudden my ECT and Trans temp are reading about half what the actual numbers are. I added the extended PID’s could that be my problem?
Thanks for any help!

Update; cleared all PID’s list and re-entered them manualy with the equations found on this thread and they all work perfectly again.

Great, glad to hear you got them working.

Say, have you Data Logged yet?

I have, but my EOT comes out on the Data Log nearly 3 times hotter than what my PID reads.

Just curious.

No I have not done any logging yet but will do some this weekend and let you know what my #’s look like.

Here’s the formula I came up with for EBP:

((A*256)+B)*(36.25/1000)

I think it’s right.

At idle, it will be about the same as the Baro and Int Man Pres.

At Throttle, it will be equal to Int Man Pres + Boost Pres.
Does anyone else know if this is right?

Thanks for sharing.

I will check it out.

How are you doing the equations? Would like to learn.

Does anyone know of a source for 6.7 PID’s? I am still looking, with no success. :-(

Really I was a ‘Blind Monkey’. I looked at one of the other Custom PID’s that do PSI and then played with the last half of the formula. The first half ((A*256)+B) establishes the raw value. I read that somewhere but don’t remember where.

I’ve been watching it and initially thought it followed Manif press + Boost, but not exactly. Still would like to know if the upper reading are right.

At Idle, it should match Manifold Pressure with in 1psi according to FORD so that’s the reading I was adjusting the formula to when I was playing with it.

Would like to know if the there is a PID for Exhaust Temp??

If you are talking about an EGT gauge, Exhaust Gas Temperature, Or pyrometer. No, there is not one available for Ford 6.0L 2003-2007. Ford did not think one was needed. I’m not sure about anything newer, 2008+

Nor is there a fuel pressure PID in those years. And the low oil pressure gauge on the dash is just a switch, not reading pressure. “Is there pressure? yes, gauge moves up.”

As for now, those gauges will need to be added in other ways, and not through this APP.

You 6.0 guys are always trying to squeeze more info out of your PCM’s. LOL

William,

The more the merrier!

Nice to see you here.

Try data logging. Let me know what you see when you email your logs to yourself. Especially the oil temps.

Thanks amdriven. :)

BT adapter showed up last night. Oil temp isn’t reading yet, and trans temp looks way off, but otherwise I’m happy with what I see so far.

William

“Manage extra PIDs/Sensors”

Check your oil temp equation.

Should read this way:

((((A*256)+B)/100)-40)*(9/5)+32

As for the tranny.

Go in to edit for this gauge and change OBD header, which is near the bottom, and make sure it reads TCM.

That should help.

That did it. I saw the EOT info after reading this thread again. I missed the TCM bit for trans temp.

Any way to get a good boost reading? I set up intake pressure, played around with settings in the vehicle profile, but can’t get rid of the atmospheric influence and read 0 at idle.

I’ll see if I can find my post on boost. Mine is working now, but can’t remember if I did something to fix it.

All I can say at this point is that in my vehicle profile I have “boost adjustment” at 0

I have a question about the EOT it always reads 32 degrees F. I know this is wrong. What can I do?
