How is the Volumetric Efficiency (Calculated) calculation performed. How reliable is it?

The reason I ask is that I’m working on MPG. (Yup, Another one). I tried to calculate Vol.Eff. using the OTC calculator here.

https://www.otctools.com/ve

Using this data @WOT:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9QPldkgX9EDVFRPaE5iTVlpcjg

And get a value of 76%

However when I go WOT and use the Torque Pro Vol.Eff. PID I get a max of 95-98%. I’m tempted to use the Torque calc’ed Max value because it seems to cause the MPG AVG to match my calculated MPG more closely.

Thoughts?

Addendum:

Engine displacement: 3.954 Liters
Enhanced MPG calculation: ON

I cannot answer your question – sorry. But, are you able to change the volumetric efficiency? I see in the Torque manual that it states this is adjustable – presumably in the profile fields with engine displacement and the like – but I have no such field. Did the ability to override the value drop on newer versions of the app?

End Quote.

Answers to your questions:

1. Yep.
2. Nope.

Edit vehicle profile.
Show advance settings.
Then look for field right after max rpms.
