it’s not as easy as it sound’s

you have to look at each one of them and look if the value seem to follow the value your are looking for

i put a variable resistor instead of the sensor

and looking at each adress when i found the result that was following my trimmer

i did the math and voila

I haven’t a clue. Is there some place that can show the steps? I thought I did the scan and the program would do the rest.

Also, I noticed under the TorqueScan plugin, Some of the items in the list are highlighted green, does that mean anything special?

Main screen Adapter Status:
Adapter Status Information:
Settings:
Manage extra PIDs/Sensors:
Manage custom OBD2 PIDs:

This list added several items after the FULL SCAN. Question is, how do I add these to the Dashboard Realtime Information or is that what they are used for?

Sorry, I’m new at this. I thought it was more like Plug-n-Play…

Now that you have pid addresses…

Test temperature pids with engine cold
then again at temperature.

The 2200xx pids may mirror the generic
OBD mode 01 pids.

The 2209xx pids might be sensor input
voltages.

Compare against the Ford predefined
pids for known pids.

Search the web and forums specific to
your vehicle.

Observation then trial and error.

Interpreting the results…

Command: 221674 Response: 6216740366

Separate the data bytes from the
non data bytes…

621674 0366

0366 is a two byte hex answer that might
use decimal equations:

A single item response ((A*256)+B)
Multiple item response A or B

(In this case 0366 is likely your TFT).

0366 hex = 870 decimal

Byte A = 03 hex = 03 decimal
Byte B = 66 hex = 102 decimal

((A*256)+B) = ((3*256)+102) = (768+102) = 870

870 * (1/8) = 108.75 °F

(1/8) is the scale factor needed to
yield correct temperatures.

After creating a custom pid you can
add to the realtime dashboard by long
pressing an empty area or using
menu key to “Add Display” while in
the dashboard.

I did a scan & got nothing. Does that mean there are no extended PIDs? Or does torque not check every address?

Based upon your other thread… it maybe
Torque not parsing your protocol’s response
correctly?

Did it complete the scan process? I did three scans where it came back with no or partial results. I found if I touched the screen for any reason the test would stop at that point.

My first scan I used the Auto Scan. My second scan I checked the box next to Full scan. ( Note the Full scan took well over 30 minutes.)
