Post Elm327 not picking up ecu

I recently purchased a Vgate elm327 bluetooth scanner and it is not recognizing the ecu. I have a 2007 Chevy Cobalt SS and I tried everything that i can think of and none of seems to be working. Any ideas? Thanks.
