Post Golf DSG Oil Temp
on: September 12, 2013 (GMT)

Hello, first post.
I bought the PRO version, mainly to monitor my Golf 6 speed DSG temp so that I can do an oil change myself and save some money. I am using both methods 1 & 3 (2 says its unavailable).
My car had been sat all night, the ambient temp was 15 Deg C, but the Trans. Temp showed as 20 Deg C. This seems wrong since I would expect it to be the same as ambient after an all-night cool down.
Can anybody advise please? Does any body know for sure the correct PID? Thanks.

Also, driving home tonight i added coolant temperature to the same page. It showed identical values to both trans temp readings. So i suspect i dont have the right PID for the vw DSG.
I’m sure Ian can fix this :-)

Any suggestions please? I note that a very long thread about VAGCOMM just got updated so I guess there is plenty of knowledge out there.I’d like to think my money wasn’t wasted – only £3 I know – but nevertheless I wasn’t warned that it wouldn’t do DSG oil temp :-(

Maybe this link will help…(Post #22)

Edit:

This post suggests that there is more than one
module responding to pid 0105. Maybe its just
a matter of getting the correct header for the
desired response.

Thanks, I’ll look into it.

I’m quite disappointed that Ian didn’t reply to me, particularly since I paid for the app and it was my first ever post. He has been replying to several posts over the past few days.
There seems ot be confusion over which bus / protocol modern VWs use. I’m no idiot but I find this very complex.

If you can make requests in the terminal, you can see the PID of the DSG oil temperature
