Currently have a blue-tooth adapter and have done everything to maximize pid read speeds. Being in the automotive field and having some obd/ecu background, the next step is a wired connection. Seen a couple wired adaptors, but cannot find info whether they will supply the power from the obd2 port to the device (android tablet) to maintain battery level.

Looking at these, not sure if they supply power:
1. http://www.scantool.net/scan-tools/pc-based/obdlink-sx.html
——————OR———————-
2.http://www.scantool.net/scan-tools/pc-based/elmscan5-compact.html

EDIT: Manufacturer contacted me back and said this adapter only supplies power to charge device, and cannot transfer data….lol? vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv

I did find this http://www.obd2plugs.com/Product-429.html, but I’m not too comfortable about it. Would negate having to buy a usb to micro adapter.

I can verify that the elmscan does work with torque via USB otg cable, my nexus claims it is charging when connected to vehicle, but am not sure if it just thinks it is or it actually is.

Has anyone been successful at charging while connected to the SX on other devices? I just bought a Galaxy Tab E Lite with an OTG y-cable for this purpose, and it connects to the SX, but it won’t charge. Not sure if the device doesn’t support it or if I got a defective cable. I’m looking for a new tablet, the cheapest that will work well with Torque Pro and a OBDLink SX while charging.
