Cool!

I understand you must be very busy with the huge amount of improvements still being made to Torque, but while you’re on I was wondering if there is any news on user-defined upper and lower limits for dials (e.g. the MPG dial constantly re-scaling itself up to a maximum of 255mpg, instead of a more useful figure like 70mpg)?

Remember, your pictures need to be uploaded to the internet for them to be displayed.

I’ve got a couple of requests to be able to force a max value on a display (basically manually set the scale). I’ve got this queued up for the next couple of versions to do.

I don’t know how to make one of my own, but I have an idea. What if you put a backdrop of the vehicles logo. Like Dodge and the Ram head or Ford and their logo. Could someone make something like that up? Or tell me how to do it, because I would be more then happy to

You could, however I can’t upload themes with companies logo’s in to the theme server as I don’t want to make it seem like they endorse the app (you can get in trouble for it!! :))

non-logo themes are cool tho. I have a couple to upload and might get the time to put them on the theme server by middle of next week!

Latest set of themes have been uploaded (menu->refresh if you can’t see them in the theme manager). I’m looking at the auto-theme changing (time or light based being examined)

Thanks for the recent update Ian – the “Set Maximum” option on dials is just what I was after. Only slight issue is that the needle on the ‘Dial (Needle)’ can go a bit haywire when the reading keeps changing between on-scale and off-scale. The ‘Dial (Meter)’ works nicely though :)

Ok, I’ll have a look at that for the next update – probably a small bug crept in

Using the new half meter I am noticing that the for engine coolant and trans temp that the dial want to calibrate for Centigrade even though I have set Fahrenheit under the preferences. This is on a Ford 6.0L diesel. Reading appear to be proper for Fahrenheit but the gauge calibration looks like centigrade. So it has -60 to 672. I set Max temp to 400 so that normal operating range would be around top center and it adjusted the top to 352 but the low still reads -60 making the gauge somewhat useless.

In the image below compare the Oil Temp bottom right to the coolant and trans temp. All are reading in Fahrenheit but only the Oil temp is scaled correctly.

Is their a quck fix for this?

@dwalthers:

A bit late, but:
Tap and hold the display you want to change. Then choose “Set Minimum Value” or “Set Maximum Value”.

There you go :)
