thanks! but unfortunately torque only take .ttf not .otf
however, i found a way to convert to ttf and now it looks nice on my dash setup! Serpentine font is obviously better though. haha
I’d post a pik but i dont know how to get an image URL without expiring.

Thnx. Tried it. But the time went out of it’s box. Annoying.
Now I changed it again . I like it better.

Post Having trouble
on: November 28, 2016 (GMT)

Hi guys,

Just started using torque and I love it, seeing all the individual themes you guys are coming up with, is making me want to try my own, but Im having all sorts of problems.

Im not understanding the process at all.

Ive downloaded a torque theme editor from google play store, but I cant find any fonts on my tablet, Ive downloaded some from playstore but have no idea how to access them.

Can someone please explain to me, in simple terms, (Im not that bright….) how to go about making a simple theme, where to get the fonts from etc.

Can i do this on my mac laptop? And how do I transfer to torque in my car? I cant see anyway of doing it, the torque app doesnt allow you to add themes, or not that I can find anyway. Can I edit existing themes on torque and if so, how can I do this?

Sorry for all the dumb questions.

Thanks very much for your help, its an awesome app.

Those are not “dumb questions”. We’ve all been there, but to explain the proces here is way to difficult. The easiest way is to Read the Torque-wiki. And put some effort in it, because you will need to practice a lot.

Thanks mate, you are right, getting there with my own theme now.

Just a question, is there a way to get rid of the decimal points in those setups like speed etc, that dont give you the option in the new display selection etc?

You have meters without the options to use Zero numbers after the . ?

Yes gauges for revs etc, have the option of getting rid of the decimal points, but it doesnt give that option for speed, kilometres remaining, voltage, fuel remaining etc.

Is there a line in the properties.txt that you can insert? Ive looked in themes Wiki but it doesnt show one.

Appreciate any help.

It is in code, so should be possible. Will look it up.
Meanwhile, I changed my fonts:
Any thoughts?

Meanwhile I had a line to get rid of the numbers behind the . .But it Freaks out Torque.
Just mentioning that the decimal for the Voltage is needed. The difference beyween 13(9) and 14(2) isn’t worth mentioning. But when it is 13(0) or 14(2), that could indicate a malfunctioning alternator…

@farlake
i see that you have the same problem like me:
the max index (red) of your Batt voltage stay at the minimum of the gauge
i have already mentionned this issue but no solution at this moment…
https://torque-bhp.com/forums/?wpforumaction=viewtopic&t=7101.0
this happen on display gauge(not on dial gauge) which start at no zero value

WOO first post!

Been using torque since 2013 mainly as a code reader/reset tool but have lately been getting into using the realtime display more. I used to have a VW, so the blue passat theme was perfect… Now I have a 2012 Chevy Impala, so I’m looking into finding the gauge font so I can make a theme. There are so many of these cars in circulation, and this generation was in production for 10 years, I figure it would be a good contribution to the community. Also if I’m not mistaken, several other models including the pickups used similar gauge fonts… I’m waiting on the folks at impalaforums to hear back on that one. If I can’t track it down I’ll probably have a go at just making some random themes that look cool.
I’m a graphic designer for my day job so if anyone on the forum here has photoshop/image editor questions about the pics for themes send me an email, andrewhusband@gmail.com.

Big thanks to Ian for making such an awesome app.

andrewtwice,
the font for the impala cluster is Euro font i believe, (italic, according to the cluster) I think its not EXACTLY IT but its damn near.
as for the SS impala gauge font would be serpentine.
