Post FORD 6.0 DIESEL NO EOT, PLEASE HELP!!!
on: January 16, 2013 (GMT)

I am a total newb here but I need some help. I have a 05 F250 6.0L powerstroke, my EOT only reads 32*F, never changes. I bought this app specifically to get the deltas between my ECT and EOT but cant seem to get it to work. I have added the ford powerstroke PID’s, before this I didnt even have the monitor for EOT. I have seen a couple posts to change the settings inside the PID but the program wont allow me to make changes. PLEASE HELP! WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE? THANKS!

Turn on Torque APP

Go to “settings”

Go to ‘manage extra IDs/Sensors’

find ‘engine oil temp’

touch it.

touch ‘edit’

this is what you will see:

221310

short name: EOT

MIN- 0.0

MAX- 300.0

SCALE- x1

Unit type- C yes, C

Equation: enter this one, it’s easier and works: (((A*256)+B)/100)-40

OBD header- Auto

Now exit and go set up a gauge.

when it gives you the list to choose your gauge scroll down to “engine oil temp”

Do not use “Engine oil Temperature”

Now you should be able to read EOT.

And now that you are in this, need to fix trans temp.

Follow the same steps, but when you get down to the OBD Header, make sure it is changed to TCM.

Then when you go to select the gauge you want make sure you select “Transmission Fluid Temp” NOT THE OTHER ONES!!!

Northwest United States

Any reason why I can not get my EOT to read in Fahrenheit ? All other Pids work fine except the EOT. My equation is identical to above.

I believe that the equation above is for degrees “C”

Try the one below and it should give you degrees “F”

Engine Oil Temp
EOT
PID: 221310
Unit: Deg. F
Max/Min: 300/0
Equation: ((((A*256)+B)/100)-40)*(9/5)+32

I’ve tried everything on this forum to get the EOT to work with my 2004 6.0 powerstroke. Pretty much threw the equation book at it and tried reinstalling the app. I also manually tested my oil temp sensor with an ohm’s meter and heat gun and it seems to be working as it should. Anyone have a breakthrough on this topic?

What header are you using?

Can you post the raw hex response
when testing the pid while connected?

What protocol does your vehicle use? Look
under adapter status icon functions while
connected.
