Hi are there any known issues with an astra with a y17dt engine and using an ELM adapter? I have used the device on a Pug 306 and seem to work fine but will not talk to the ecu on my astra.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Hi!

Have you verified the vehicle is OBD2 compliant? In the EU / US, Petrol engines from 1996 should be OBD2 compliant, and Diesel engines from 2004 onwards should be compliant. Unfortunately though having the correct shaped connector isn’t a guarantee that the vehicle is compliant

If it is compliant, then it should definately work with Torque(as OBD2 is a common standard). In this situation you may have a faulty adapter (other symptoms of this would mean that it works in different manufacturers vehicles ok, but not yours (even though both support OBD2)). The best course of action at this point is to return the adapter for a replacement

Hi there.
I have the same engine. Torque Pro Software works well, but it shows wrong information about fuel consumption. For example, the car standing still, showing consumption of 4.8 liters per hour, should be 0.4 liters per hour.
While driving shows 12 liters per 100 km, should 6 L/100km.

Car profile ok (1.7 liters)
Any ideas ?
