Hi

Make sure the baud rate in Torque is set to ‘Automatic’, that you have told Torque to use USB instead of bluetooth and also that you quit Torque /then/ plug the adapter in (Android will request to start torque at this point and you should let it start)

Torque should then start using the adapter

I’ve tried automatic and all the baud rates, removing the adapter and closing torque each time. Torque does auto-start each time, and the USB icon stays lit, but the car icon is flashing. If i set the baud to the lowest setting, the device LED will be flashing, so it’s clearly talking to the chip!
I’ve been using the same cable in windows for years, it’s running FTDI drivers and other VAG specific software software works just fine with it.

This problem is obviously not solved , yet.
Connection problems seems to be between android and USB.
No driver installation possible.

Hi!

Just to confirm that the USB adapter you’re using is an ELM327 based adapter (and not something like a VW/VCDS/etc ‘dumb’ k-line lead or something else?

The adapter must use an ELM327 – if it does not have one then it will not work as it’s not the right kind of device

I have this:
Modified ELM327 USB V1.5 OBD2 Elmconfig with Switch for Ford

This is a china clone with first version of Elm327 (1.0).
Probably , all china adapters are version 1.0
with faked bios .

Anyway, most apps are for wifi and bluetooth.
USB and android seems not as simple to go.
