Post Custom PID Calibration
on: July 20, 2012 (GMT)

I made a custom PID for auto trans temp on my 2006 Mazda MX-5. I had Scan Gauge info and went through the hex to decimal process – wow…

So, it works.

Here’s the equation (A*(27/16))-0038

However it seems to report about 20 degrees higher than it should.

So I changed the equation to subtract 0058 instead of 0038 and it seems to report correctly. The value matches ambient air temp and coolant temp when cold, and increases logically.

Could calibration really be that easy?

Hi Sloopercat,

do you know some special other PID for Mazda?

I want to test if it works on my Mazda3

What year 3? I have a 2010 and wondering the same. I did find this x-gauge info for a 2008 in a 3 forum:

I’ve tried converting it to Torue format but it didn’t work for my car. I

Thanks Hiej! I’m going to try the ATF temp PID. Once I get the Torque equation figured out would you like it?

I’ve found this guide in the forum: http://torque-bhp.com/forums/?wpforumaction=viewtopic&t=352.0

maybe it will be useful’, I will try if I’m able to do something…

in any case if you found somethig that works plese share 😉

Here’s what I came up with for ATF temp-

OBD2 PID – 2211BD
Long Name – M3 ATF Temp
Short Name – M3 ATF
Min/Max – 0/300
Scale – 1
Equation – ((A*256)+B)*(9/5)-38

I haven’t tried it yet…

OK i tried but it does not work…

I’ve tried some other pids following the above guide, but only 01 mode pids 01 works (and they are already available by default in torque).

for all mode 22 pids get no response.
