I commonly use bluetooth to stream to the radio (BT receiver on aux input). It seems that T.P. works smoother when not streaming, versus when I am streaming.
BT adapter is OBD Max something or other. One of the recommended ones.

Would there be a big impact, either way, moving to a USB adapter instead of Bluetooth? This tablet lives in the vehicle, should have a nice little pod made for it soon so will look better on top of the dash.

If I moved to USB, would I lose any functionality as far as being able to interface to various vehicles? Primarily, Only my Yukon is used, but may do another tablet for use in the Tundra.
