So i’ve been using Torque pro with an obd link MX+ to monitor the DPF on my Kia Sportage 1.7crdi. I can view the exhaust temperature and EGR which tells me when the engine is performing a regeneration. It doesn’t tell me the soot content of the DPF however. I’ve tried car scanner combined with an i phone and am able to view this together with miles since last regen. Problem is when car scanner is connected the Electric power steering warning light on the dash flashes. Any ideas why. Thanks in advance.

sometime if comm speed is not set right it will send incorrect data into the bus ..to try to find it and the car can be triggered by this suspicious data

or the software is sending some request or data into the bus that the car doesn’t like

…
