I thought I remembered copying the .torque folder from one phone to another in the past so I could retain the profiles I’ve previously defined along with the custom layouts I painstakingly set up.

But I can’t seem to make that work now moving from an Android 9 phone to an Android 11 phone.

In an attempt to see where the .torque folder is located in Android 11, I renamed my old .torque file (which I had copied over) to .torque.old and tried to set up a new profile. But I couldn’t find a new .torque folder anywhere.

Where did I go wrong?

Hi!

In android 11 google forced all the developers to use the storage access framework if they want to update their apps. This means that the .torque folder is no longer accessible in a reliable manner, so it had to be moved

The new location is /sdcard/Android/data/org.prowl.torque/files

Hi!

<snip>

The new location is /sdcard/Android/data/org.prowl.torque/files

</p></div>

Thanks. Just checked sd card>Android>data and nothing is there. (Edit: access denied)

Should I copy the old .torque file there and rename it org.prowl.torque?

Edit: hold on, I see a msg in my file manager that says access was denied. Hmm. I’m using FX as my file mgr. Do I need to be roofed to have access to that folder?

The latest update to Torque Pro brought the ability to backup and restore profiles! This enabled me to move my Android 9 profiles to my Android 11 phone!

Hello,
I’m not sure if anyone can help me.

My old phone is a Galaxy S5 and it has a .torque folder.

My new phone is Galaxy s23 and it does not have a SD card slot.

Where do I need to put my .torque folder on it?

the app got moved but when I search for torque in My Files it returns nothing.

I did go into setting of My Files and enabled ‘Show hidden system files’.

Any one got any ideas?

Thanks and enjoy your day!

Best regards,
