Post Predefined stopped working
on: October 23, 2021 (GMT)

I downloaded a nice set of predefined ioniq 5 pids.
It all looked good, showing in the list and all.
But i accidently deleted them.
And i Just can’t get them back in…
I deleted Torque/data, reinnstalled, created a new file,
but nothing makes it show in the list!
All the default predefined are showing (like Ford Nissan etc)
Any tips or help is much appreciated :)

Na, it’s 11 on a samsung s10e.
Funny thing is it, worked fine till i cleared list.
And immediately tried to install them, but they didn’t show.

Hm – it could be related to the storage changes in android 11 and (the forced changes in 12). It’s worth checking that:

* The files are still there – I’ll assume they are.
* That the app has permissions to read the storage on the device still (you may need to go into app settings in android and look at the permissions there to check)

This is changing in the next update (after the android 12 update) anyway as android 12 no longer allows you to simply read the shared storage in a simple way anymore (increases security for android which is good, but a pain in the *** for the developer and some more experienced users).

It will be changing to an ‘import’ and ‘export’ menu item where a system file selector will be displayed instead of the current simple export that is there at the moment.

It would be interesting to see if the app has somehow lost storage permissons on your device – it shouldn’t happen unless you’ve had a cleanup and done it be accident!

Nope, app has all permissons still.
Is there a way to restore all settings i torque, back to default?
I did clear all data before reinstalling app, but im not sure it did clear setting..

Hi!

Clearing the settings won’t change anything on being able to see or not see the files to import

For some reason the app can’t see the files on the shared storage (whereas they previously were there). Usually this is because there are not files present if they’re not appearing in the list, or the app doesn’t have permission to access them

the pids should be inside the ‘.torque/extendedpids/’ (all lower case) folder on the shared storage for your device for the app to see them

Ahh, maybe i misexplained.
I do see the file i want to import.
But the pids inside the file,
doesn’t show in pids list after i choose
the file..
I can rename file, make a new file with same
Pids inside, al files are showing in the
predefined list, but won’t show in pids list
(after i hit button “clear list”)

Others pids, like the default predefined, like Ford etc are
showing and can be cleared an re installed without issue.

Ah, right! – that usually means that there’s something wrong with the CSV file and that the app couldn’t import them – the CSV format may be incorrect somehow so it might be worth comparing against a known good file to spot the issue

Yes, I will get more files.
Funny thing is the file worked, until i hit “clear list” button.
I have tried 2 known files, and i had backup file to replace.
i will investigate files, and maybe try building building
a new file in Windows..(instead of total commander on android)

If you have no luck, you could send the file here and I’ll try to see if I can see any issues with the app loading it

NM. I saw in the other thread (https://torque-bhp.com/forums/?wpforumaction=viewtopic&t=16077.0) about the new3 file location for the pids, and was able to import them again.
