Hi, I’m having issues trying to connect to my Alfa Romeo GT.

It’s a Bosch EDC16 ECU.

I notice is the app Alfa Romeo/FIAT is still being developed. Is there a time frame?

Cheers

Hi

At the moment you’ll need to check whether or not the Alfa is OBD2 compliant – if it’s compliant then it should be working for you (however if you are using a clone, a bad adapter may prevent this)

The fiat protocol will be added after the VW proprietary support – I’m currently thinking about providing an API for protocol plugins to the app which may speed things up as others can contribute, but am not sure if anyone would be interested

Hi

At the moment I still have vw’s proprietary protocol to do (SSM Is nearly done I just need to find out why it’s not working for some users) Consult and Fiat support will be next on my list once those protocols are dealt with

(though fiat, and vw support OBD2 in legeslated countries, so those will work straight away)

hi there, i have also a alfa romeo (147 jtd from 2002)
e can connect very good but the values are very strange, 212 rpm, 215ºc of water and intake, i think i can´t have the right values from the car

any idea , do i have to do some configuration?

thanks

Hi

Diesels weren’t required to be OBD2 compliant until 2004 onwards, so for the 2002jtd the implementation is flawed (not true OBD2) which is why you are getting incorrect readings (it appears that for this implementation Alfa/Fiat used different conversion factors than the SAE approved ones(which Torque uses).

If I knew the correct conversion factors (for fiat’s implementation) then I suppose I could add support (but someone would need to supply them as I don’t have access to a JTD from that year)

That’s useful information and if it’s in the public domain then it can be used to add support!

No idea if it is Public Domian or not.

I get the list from the maker of ALFAOBD

http://www.alfaobd.com

Maybe you can contact him ?

I have no issues with RPM, speed data on my Alfa 147 (same ECU as GT), but I have petrol version (TwinSpark).

Many FIAT ECUs tech documentation can be found here (PDFs for Fiat 9141, KWP2000, CAN, Hitachi MPI, Marelli Weber 16F, etc)

Good morning,
I resume this discussion because I bought an Alfa Romeo 156 1.9 jtd 140cv year 2003, I checked and the OBD2 socket is present. I purchased a Vgate iCar Bluetooth interface and also your Pro version application.
The interface is recognized but the data do not correspond, for example, the engine rpm data, water temperature, turbo pressure and others are incorrect. I tried on another car, a Peugeot year 2017 and everything works perfectly.
On my 156 the only one to correctly read the data is AlfaOBD but I would prefer to use Torque Pro as better at the level of customization.
I wanted to know if, after some time, there have been news about it.

Thank you

ps sorry for english

I tried Alfaobd and it works but it is not customizable as torque. Reading on the forum I understood that the parameters used by Alfa Romeo, before 2004, are different. Is there a way to implement these parameters on Torque?
