Fuzzy picture of the phone running Torque mounted in the cutout in the dash of me ’12 GT500. Matched color of my gauges as best as I could. I am now using the 1/2 sweep gauges that match my dash.

I use this setup for my RV. It is nice to know the gear you are in and the Transmission fluid temp when in the mountains.

So how do you show what gear you are in please?

It is a selection on the list. Does not work on all cars. I have a Ford Econoline 350 super duty chassis with a 6.8L V-10 engine. The ATF temp and the transmission gear gauges work. Be sure you have the free add-on app.

This is an ASUS Transformer in a RAM Mount. My phone acts as a 4G hotspot, so the tablet can be used for Google Maps, streaming music, etc. I’m a geek, so this makes me happy.

Quick question for you guys,

Do you leave the ELM327 always pluged in the OBDII plug or do you remove it when you are not using the car?

Thanks!

Doesn’t it drain the battery?

No it shouldn’t. I don’t think there’s any power when vehicle is shut off anyway.
When I had my Scangauge plugged in 24/7 the display would shut off when truck is shut off.

Same as above. my volvo XC60 does same, I remove my key, EML is still working.so I suggest just plug it when you used it. BTW, bluetooh works, that means another people can read your OBD too

How did you manage to have these type of displays. I would love to have the displays like yours with the name JEEP written all over the place. :)

For EGT, I used Catalyst Temperature (Bank 1,Sensor 1). For AFR is in the list. I renamed the gauge title using all caps for a clean look.

Here is my work in progress. It is being installed in a 1987 vw Jetta with a 2001 VW jetta 1.8t engine swap. It is not fully operational yet but its coming along nicely.

My car is no show car, use it for auto-x right now, but it may be the oldest one with Torque running in it. Its an 84 Honda Civic 2000S (formerly 1500S). Is full OBD-2 swap from 99 CR-V and is code free.

Planning/testing location:

Actually installed (didn’t have torque running for this pic though)

EDIT: Loving the VW in the post before mine. Like seeing old 80s cars running new internals and such. Hope to see more of that car.
