Sorry guys OT. I have a quick question. Those of you on Galaxy Tab GT-P1000, what bluetooth adapter are you guys using? Cause I’m using the ELM327 adapter from ebay and it doesn’t seems to be able to read the adapter from my Galaxy Tab. What could be the possible problem? Thanks in advance.

First up, I’d like to say while I’m a first time poster here, I’m very familiar with the product and would like to applaud Ian for his hard and great work.

Here rests my old phone, an HTC Incredible, much to the annoyance of my teenage son.

It is reset, non-activated, and could probably idle for weeks without a charge. It is powered off the ignition, and now finally sleeps properly when the key is withdrawn. It used to fail to sleep, and eat the battery down in 10 hours, until I figured out that it was actually the GPS that was keeping Torque awake. With GPS off, I lose the map logging feature, but now the battery stays topped off all the time, and the only time I need to pull the device is to update the theme. Any ideas for doing that over WiFi while it’s in the garage?

It is connected over Bluetooth to an OBDLink under the console. Of course I had to move the port since with the OBDLink attached it was in the way.

I have custom dials graphics, which nicely match my RX330. By doing custom per pid, I was able to make up color bars to suit this screen’s main purpose, fuel efficiency.

I’m still working on a away for the dash phone to do Google Maps over a pdaNet Tablet connection to the phone.

Also I am making a couple of LED light tubes to show the two covered indicators. All I had to do was slice away a little of the dash facia, and the phone sits snuggly in place. From the angle I took the photo there is a bunch of glare on the bottom of the screen… not there from eye-level.

Anyway, Cheers Ian, keep up the fab work.

The Xitech ELM327 BT adapter is tucked away under the dash using a 90-degree 2 foot ODBII extension cable. Android device is a Google Nexus One.

Think I am getting the hang of this, fo some reasn the stock gauges are invisible in daylight with sunglasses on so am just replacing the whole thing. I read very fast so prefer digital.

Pretty sure I have figured out the tourqueDials.dat format & working on way to make blink/change color if over max or under min.

Now if I could just find a way to:
1) figure out what version I have (finally found a download site)
2) pay Ian and
3) get the Pro copy (cannot use Amazon Marketplace because I do not have a telephone).

Hey Jim… look into Tasker:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm

You can set a condition on the phone to kill the GPS and Bluetooth when it’s on battery power, as well as disabling the screen.

Then when you turn on the key it can boot up the radios and load Torque and you’re ready to go.

My new setup. Having a tablet was redundant as my phone was able to do it all.
