Post How to turn OFF DTC scanning

I have an ’01 excursion with the 7.3 powerstroke and everytime the torque app connects, it kills the engine. I have narrowed this down to the torque app trying to pull DTC codes while the engine is running which is no bueno for the Powerstroke. I have tried the F150/F250 bug option and it has allowed it to connect but eventually it will shut down.

I use AE for code scanning but want to use Torque to run on my Android head unit for sensor data only.

Is there a way to permanently disable the DTC code reader function?
If not, can the torque app developer PLEASE add an option that turns off the automatic DTC code retrieval unless manually run from the app? I love the app but this is killing me and is dangerous…

Look under Speech/Alarms settings if
the scan is automatically occurring.
