Post Looking for a good tutorial on programming in Torque

I have been using Torque for a couple of years now and find it very useful. I’ve got a 2014 RAM Cummins 6.7. The instrument panel on the truck is quite sparse and some of the useful information (like coolant temp) is buried in a display that you have to use up/down/left/right buttons to scroll around to find. With the Torque app I can basically have a second instrument cluster showing the info that I need.

What I am looking for is a tutorial or documentation that explains how to dig deeper into the system with custom PIDs. I think I could figure it out if I just had a little guidance but I haven’t found it yet. Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks

A good place to start is googling
OBDII PIDs wiki page.

You could also look into buying the
OBD Standards used in your vehicle.

the easy way is to go on you truck forum
or some forum

like for my mustang some pid can be found here and there

some are coming from other car and they are the same sometime they are not

if you realy want it like me there is other option

i have a canalyst II and some other stuff

there are mutiple trick some

like on my genesis coupe was looking for the map pressure..

used the torque scan app…. it gave me the list of adress that would respond ALOT OF THEM

the with the car off ..i just replaced the sensor with a variable resistor …. tried some adress and ..one was moving ….

did the same with my exhaust valve on my mustang …but this on was tricky ….for some reason valve position engine off is fully closed and fully open ….so at first i said no working

finally stared the engine.. and then they go part way

but on my mustang the torque scan tool was not working anymore … the car seem’s picky … you need to put zero’s ..instead of nothing like torque does

Thank you both for the responses. I just needed to find where the trail starts, now I’ll see where it leads.

Not all of them.
