Post Analogue sensor connection / additional sensor
on: January 5, 2021 (GMT)

Hi All,

Is there any way to connect an additional sensor to be read in the same Torque Pro app?

Specifically, my car used to be Naturally Aspirated, it’s now Supercharged and doesn’t have a boost sensor… I have created a place where I can install one, but can I somehow connect this sensor to be read and displayed on my Torque Pro live stats dashboard while at the same time displaying there the usual stats from my ELM327 adapter?

If there is for example some OBD2 adapter that supports and aux where I can connect to it an additional sensor which it’ll send to Torque Pro after, for example? Or if I can also connect at the same time as my OBD2 adapter, a USB cable with the sensor to the Android device? Any suggestions would be super helpful and appreciated!

Car: 2013 RS5 4.2 with a supercharger
Application: Android dedicated screen with a vlink ELM327 wifi adapter

(happy to buy some hardware to make this work, but don’t know what :-) )

Thanks in advance!

B

from what i know no it doesn’t not exist

can it be done yes …

but you need to be a bit eletronic savy lol

i used an arduino with an obdii program

and connected it to the bus

in my case if i asked for an data that didn’t exist with torque the pcm would not respond ..

so i used the arduino to send a response instead … torque just see’s a response

there is a microcontroller win the canbus already on board that a found

it’s more compact that having all the board added

i have been using this chip for my project

some exemple of the code

Remember this from the past…

Update is out now – the PLX unit I have here is set to emulate several sensors, so it would be cool to know that it works in a real setup as well

(there were about 3 bugs, each that could have got in the way of this working for some people, so now it should be fixed) – you’ll see the PLX sensors in the normal sensor list (with a little iMFD box next to each iMFD sensor which should hopefully make them easier to see)

End Quote.

Thank you, sounds like i may just get a separate gauge installed in my car for boost…
