Post Trying to find Ford Mode 06
on: September 14, 2020 (GMT)

Hello,

This forum has a bunch of people who are talking about extremely detailed things that this app can do. I’ve tried searching for what I need, but I seem come up empty and get caught in a loop of extreme over-information.

All I want to do right now is be able to use this app to access Mode 06 data to detect a misfire on a Ford 5.4.

Can somebody give me an easy how-to for that? Do I have to install Ford specific PIDs to access that data?

Thanks…

Look under Test Results icon to find
mode 6 polling in its submenus.

When I looked in test results, it had a number of TID items, but nothing for cylinder misfire. The only extra things in my menu are O2 Data, Send, Screenshot, and Help.

Couldn’t find anything referencing Mode06

I did not know that was an app. I downloaded it and was able to get the info that I needed. Cylinder 1 misfire 8.7% of the time. Apparently it has to hit 24% or more before it will throw a code.

Thank you for the Forscan recommendation!

For my 2000 MY Ford misfire mode 6
data uses TIDs from 0x50 to 0x55 where
0x53 shows individuals in CIDs 0x00 through
0x0A using 0.000015 multiplier for percent.

The Ford OBD Summary document for the MY
details this data.
