0121 (distance with mil on) – this is for the engine ECU, and for the automatic transmission ECU this is another parameter
receives that the automatic transmission responds only to 01xx, but does not respond to 21xx and 22xxxx

you can check which PIDs the ecu automatic transmission is responsible for pumping from 0100 to 01FF, but what each PID will mean, you can either guess or select or look by analogy in the scanner

Here they are. Not much to be seen.

Custom OBD2 PIDs are mysterious. I have read about passive CAN (CANBUS) mode and how it can ‘sniff’ the traffic and have started researching this.

in reality, with address 7E1 only PID 0101 and 0121 is supported by you, most likely, by analogy with PID 0101 OBD, 0101 – Monitor status since DTCs cleared. (Includes malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) status and number of DTCs.) ???
0121 – Distance traveled with malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) on ???

what PIDs 0101 and 0121 respond when the engine is running

0101 (Monitor status since DTCs cleared)
7E8 06 41 01 00 07 E5 00
7E9 06 41 01 00 04 00 00

0121 (Distance traveled with malfunction indicator lamp)
7E9 04 41 21 00 00
7E8 04 41 21 00 00

Would you know how format a CANBUS message request? I have read and tied a few formats but have come to no conclusion.

Thank you all the feedback and help.

strange different length of answer or is it a failure in the answers
7E9 04 41 21 00 00
or
7E9 10 09 41 21 00 0E 01 02
7E9 21 04 00 00 00 00 00 00

I am getting back some strange results. Torque standard PIDs and ActiveOBD are working, so it must be something I’m doing in terminal.

How about this?!?

This works:
Tx 0105
Rx 7E8 03 41 05 62

And these does not?
Tx 7E0 02 01 05 (02 is the send length?)
Rx NO DATA

Tx 7E0 03 01 05 (03 is the receive length? – trying goth ways)
Rx NO DATA
