Post Custom PID ECU Response Address
on: May 25, 2019 (GMT)

I have emailed this question via the Play Store but then found the forum which seems like it has a lot of good stuff on…

I’m trying to add custom PIDs using Torque but can’t find how to set the response address for the ECU?

The CAN message ID for the request is 712 which I am putting in the OBD Header box, however Torque says there is no response. The response is on message 77C which is a bit unusual and I assume the app is expecting it to be on message 71A (+8h from request).

Is there any way to set the “response header” or similar?

It is definitely sending the message correctly and the response is appearing on the CANBUS (on message 77Ch) as I have checked.

Thanks

you need to use Flow Control mode with these settings
command atcra77c specifies the address from which the response will be expected
atsp6
atsh712
atcra77c
atfcsh712
atfcsd300000
atfcsm1
1003

init string
atsp6\natsh712\natcra77c\natfcsh712\natfcsd300000\natfcsm1\n1003

Thanks for the reply.

Where in the Torque menu does all that go?

I’m just using the normal user defined PID menu rather than sending raw commands.

Thanks

You can create a new profile for your new control unit.
In this profile, configure the initialization string, as I indicated above
then create the external PIDs you need

Great, found it.

Hadn’t even looked in the vehicle profile menus before.

Thanks
