Ok,

I’ve made some progress. The OBDKey made no difference, but switching off alternate header and adding “auto” to the OBD header in the PID page, I now get a value of 32, and the green light is blinking (indicating it is communicating with the car?).

No matter what I put in for the equation I always get “32”.

Any suggestions?

Hi

Can you send a comms debug log after the little green light has been flashing for a a minute or two? I’ll have a look to see what’s going on when I get it

To send a comms debug go to the realtime information screen, hit menu->more…->send comms debug (make sure you put a description in or it’ll get lost in the other comms debugs i get!)

thanks

Hi

From the debug:
1305944903540 {– 2216A8
1305944903610 –} 6216A80040
1305944856698 *** class java.lang.IllegalArgumentException:Check parentheses ***

Looks like your equation is odd one bracket somewhere, everything else looks good as your vehicle responded with information for that PID!

With the latest Update of Torque (1.4.66) the variable in the equation changed from “C” to “B”:

Mode and PID: 2216A8

Long name: Downstream ACT
Short name: IAT2
Minimum Value: 0.0
Maximum Value: 200 for °F OR 100 for °C
Scale factor: x1
Unit type: °F OR °C (both works)
Equation: (B-32)*5/9

Thanks to Ian and Markus for all their efforts, I’ve been out of town for a while, so I didn’t get to check this until now, and I got it working, using the b parameter per the last post. Great addition since IAT2 on these cars is critical, now I’ll look into datalogging.

BTW I have an OBDKey and a PLX Kiwi, it seems like the PLX updates much faster?

With the updates that have been made, the new equation for IAT2 is now: (b)

This will show the parameter in degrees F

I’ve tried ever permutation in this thread (alternate header, different eq’s etc.) and I get nothing but the generic “7F2231” response from the ECU when I test the above settings in the OBD2 PID Editor (IAT2). I was sure the discoveries here would help me get this working, but no dice. Any ideas?

2012 GT500 is the vehicle.
