Post Toyota Non-CAN TPMS- tricky
on: December 8, 2018 (GMT)

Banging my head against the wall. I thought I had good data. Somehow I got a list of pressures and temperatures that read 30F and about 29-30PSI this morning, and that was correct by techstream. Now I’m getting different stuff. I was running it while techstream was going, maybe that?

Actually testing in a terminal for now. This don’t look like CAN commands to me.

Here is the SG for pressure- (temp is kinda similar, same prefix, different address, standard formula for temp).
TXD 82 2A F0 21 62
or 82 2A F0 21 38

RXF 546180004000

RXD 2808 (increases for each wheel)

MTH 001D0004FF6F (A*27/5-40)/10

Thanks!

Ok Getting warmer. I noticed it works only KOER, has to be running. Before I try in Torque, want to understand the data.

Thanks-
Did ATZ beforehand…

Got a BUS ERROR. For that protocol. Actually tried a few other protocols (Thought it was ISO-9141) and got the same result.

I also tried AT SI and it isn’t supported.

BAFX Elm 1.5 adapter.

Sorry, it is a 2011 Lexus GS.
I believe though these codes should work from 04-13 on many Toyotas with direct TPMS. They started with the 04 Rav 4 I believe. Your example is from a Land Cruiser.

Electrically the TPMS module is connected to the gateway computer and I believe that ends up on pin 7.

Thanks so much!
I’ll be trying this a bit later today.
I know for sure pin 7 works on my adapter. I have a 96 explorer and I can read abs speed, read abs codes. It uses the ISO protocol.

Not good .
Like I said, it definitely supports ISO/Pin 7 because of the Ford.

I met several times with the fact that the Chinese analogs of adapters do not connect to some blocks of ISO14230-4, because they cannot issue TiniL/TiniH = 35/15 ms
TiniL/TiniH = 35/15 ms – required for Toyota
TiniL/TiniH = 25/25 ms – default for adapter ELM327
Chinese adapters ELM327 can not issue 35/15 ms
branded adapters have the ability to set TiniL/TiniH = 35/15

example: 4Runner GRJ215 TPMS exactly the same protocol could only connect with the branded adapter, having built in it TiniL/TiniH = 35/15 ms

THanks, very helpful for myself and others.

I did more research, even OBD Link MX can’t do it.

They are working on the fix, that will open up a ton of pids.

Which adapters can do this?

No one is using original ELM chips.
