Post Zafira B DPF PIDs
on: December 1, 2018 (GMT)

Hi folks,

So I’ve read through majority of Opel/Vauxhall DPF PIDs and not having much luck, so a bit of information on my car/engine:

Vauxhall Zafira 1.7 CDTI Ecotec 2011 A17DTR
This engine was also in many Vectra, Astra and Zafira models of Vauxhall/Opel cars.

So I’m using a USB OBD adapter on my android head unit, it connects and I get most data (Revs, coolant temperature, load, etc) so communication working fine. I’ve enabled fast response and that works. Doing adapter test all looks good and identified as ELM327 1.5

I’m trying to identify the PIDs for DPF, so far I tried this via add custom PID:

2220FA
As this:
“DPF Regeneration Status”,”DPF dif.stat”,”2220FA”,”1-{A:0}”,”0″,”1″,”off/on”,”7E0″

The test option works, but gives no value back and NO DATA on a gauge, so not sure why that’s not right (Does that mean the Equation is evaluating incorrectly?)

Trying PIDs:
AA0329
223039

Yield nothing too.

This PID works:
220034

Which comes back with
OPEL Astra-K DPF HO2S 1/HO2S 1

but I don’t see the relation. Is there something I’m missing here, or is there a simpler way to work this out as I’m a little stuck! Also it seems since I’m using a USB OBD adapter that very few Android applications will work and let me send raw AT commands to it, so diagnosing is a little tricky!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions guys.

Regards,
Andy

If your vehicle is obdii compliant there may
mode 01xx pids that might be available. A
Ford 6.7 thread on this forum discusses
22F48B where 22F4xx was equivalent to
the obd mode 01xx pids.

Test 018B for a valid response and look within
its hex response. Header of Auto.

Your 220034 is likely the same as 0134. Is
there a 22008B available?

Look in wiki for OBD-II PIDs for more info
on 01xx pids.

Cheers for your help. I’ve managed with a bit of trial and error to get some values, whether they are accurate or not time will tell!

This one:
223047
Is giving me data, when testing I get a reply:

“dpfab2″,”dpf2″,”223047″,”A*256+B”,”0″,”65535″,”counts”,”7E0″
7F2231
7E8037F2231
counts at 61,985

I’ve found I needed to add this to diagnostic start command:
atcra5e8\nath1\natd1
end command:
atcra7e8\nath0\natd0

For each of these, so now I believe I’m getting:

“dpf Regeneration Status”,”dpf6″,”2220FA”,”1-{A:0}”,”0″,”1″,”off/on”,”7E0″
7f2231
ok ok ok
7e8037f2231

and
“OPEL Astra-K DPF Soot Accumulation”,”DPF Soot”,”22336A”,”A”,”0″,”255″,”%”,”7E0″

result: 7E8037F2231

Which looks promising!

The 7F… messages are general response
for an unsuccessful response.

Have you tested the raw response for
018B yet?

The diagnostic start/stop commands mentioned
above are only needed for AA… pids.

So yeah, all of the above no results or invalid.
Finally got a chance to test 018b and I get
7F0112
Searching on that now, cheers!
