Post Genesis mpg way off
on: October 17, 2018 (GMT)

on my genesis g80 sport 3.3TT both the instant and average fuel economy readings are low by 40%.
I have the correct weight, fuel type, fuel capacity.
I tried changing the units from gallons to gallons imperial.

nothing has made a change. the odometer is reading accurate.

any ideas what is causing this.
thanks

have a great day!!!

FYI for those with the same problem.
the VE setting will fix this for a turbocharged engine, a little trial and error is needed to get it accurate.

I started changing VE to 60 and ran @ 1/4 tank of gas and found I was still low by about 5%. tried VE of 46 and for a 1/2 tank with mixed driving was within 1 to 2 %.

a turbo charged engine should have a ve well above 100, for some reason the torque calculation is backwards, and lowering it increases the calculated mpg.

have a great day!!!
