Post Open/Closed loop discrepency
on: July 29, 2018 (GMT)

I’m trying to diagnose high fuel consumption on my 2003 E39 BMW six cylinder.
I thought I had found that it is staying in Open loop all the time because the Torque app tells me it cannot display the AFR meter as the cars in Open loop and I have to wait until the engine is warmed up. This happens all the time even after a few hours of driving.
But this weekend I found when selecting the types of displays to show the text box that is the fuel condition and it tells me the engine is in Closed loop after its warmed up.
So now i don’t know whats truly going on and I’ve spent money getting temp sensors checked, replacing the MAF and on O2 Sensors.
Torque app doesn’t show a number of sensors that i know my engine has. What are the best settings in Torque app for my M54 engined BMW please? Siemans M43.
