Post Corolla/Matrix transmission temperature
on: June 16, 2018 (GMT)

Hi!

I’m planning to tow a small camptrailer with my 2013 Toyota Matrix A4. I would like to monitor the transmission temperature or atf temp. I’m using a Veepeak OBD2 reader with Torque (lite version for now). I added a custom PID using 2182 or 21d9 but i still get “no data”. Other default sensors work ok. Here the formula used:

(((((A*256)+B)*(7/100)-400)/10)-32)*(5/9)
Minimum value:0.0
Maximum value:150
Scale facor: x1
Unit type: C

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you try the correct PIDs, it is possible to use other letters in the formula
post the hex answers in the Test Mode of these PIDs
2AZFE – 2182
2ZRFE – 21D9

If you “Test” your custom pid in the pid editor
while connected to your vehicle the raw hex response
will show which variables are responding to your
TFT.

The following thread is using E, F, G and H which is
different than the A and B in your previous post.

OK, I’ll try this “test” and get back to you.
(btw, i’m still using the LITE version, should it be the same procedure??)
Thanks.

That maybe part of the issue as I don’t believe
“Lite” has a Header field or TEST capability.

Don’t know if Lite is limited to the functional
addressing used by mode 01 pids?

You are trying to access custom mode 21xx pids
which use physical addressing.

I highly recommend:

Torque Pro.
Torquescan
Track Recorder

Edit:

Noticed that Lite version does come with
a predefined GM pid set but without the ability
to set Header values.

Thanks Capp777,

I’ll get the pro version, there is no “test” or “header” in the lite version.

I finally bought the complete version of Torque and used the pre-defined Transmission Temperature (Method 3) with PID 2182, and it works just fine!!!

Thanks, and I hope some other people will find this information helpful!
