Post U0073 Error when connected to Torque Pro
on: May 2, 2018 (GMT)

Hi all,

My name is Paul and I’m new to this Torque Pro (TP) setup but I have a fairly good mechanical knowledge. I normally use my ScanTool device for general vehicle repairs but for my daughter’s car (2010 Subaru Forester Diesel AUDM) I’ve setup a mobile device with TP and an OBDII adapter, so she can keep an eye on the soot level. Everything has been running good for a few days, until one morning when she went to drive to work, about 5 or 6 dash lights came on and she drove straight back home. I attached the ScanTool and came back with U0073 (comms error) and was able to clear it, then start and run the car normally. I’m running TP v1.8.199 and believe it was some loss of comms between TP and the OBDII device.

Is there anything I should check for, adjust or change to make sure this doesn’t happen again?

Looking forward to your replies.

Regards,
Paul

Have you set the vehicle profile to use
the specific protocol needed to prevent
an auto search on startup?

I have read where some users with Adapters
with extra wire level capabilites have experienced
similar issues which was solved by specifying
the correct protocol in the vehicle profile.

Hope this works for you.
