My coolant temperature reads negative 40 degrees. . Any idea why ?

Most likely your vehicle is returning
a zero value for OBD ECT pid.

Should I try another obd2 ?

Assuming your adapter is connecting okay it
would be helpful to know the details of your
vehicle. Someone may be able to help you
further.

Look under the Adapter Status Icon information
to see if the adapter connected properly and
which protocol is being used.
