Any solution yet to be able to upload from tablets that are wifi only? There is no IMEI number for wifi only devices and therefore no “torque ID”.

Hmm I noticed there is no progress in web viewer from 08/2010 till now, so we need to be very patience.

I would like to properly log the data and present them.

A great app with online and offline logging (later upload) is runkeeper.

It logs everything and uploads it to their site. Great tool. If Torque can present the data like runkeeper it would be great.

A small update to the web viewer has been put online this morning. It lays the groundwork for more extensive tools :)

Any word on if tablets will get support that do not have IMEI numbers?

Hi!

Tablets that support bluetooth should already be supported

Well, yes, it works with the OBD reader, but I cannot upload to the web server since it does not have an IMEI, unless I missed something…?

Hi

Are you using the pro or lite version? (tablet support for tablets without phone hardware is in the pro version at the moment, it will make it’s way into the lite vresion at some point in a later update).
You will need an active data connection (usually via some form of tethering) whilst data is being recorded, otherwise it will not be uploaded and will timeout

You can find out the ID to login from the settings – simply click the ID and it will tell you what to login with. As soon as the webserver has seen at least one data point from the device then you will be able to login

Interesting, thought I bought the full version. I will double check. Thanks

I’d like to set up a web server that ingests my data from Torque, so I can experiment with the data analysis and user interface. Can anyone help me with a primer/basic example? I’ve seen another one floating around here, and presume I’m not alone in looking to do something like this.

I was the same, which is where http://torque.ip.v6.me.uk came from, code’s also available there too which should be suitable for you to play with.

Just updated the web viewer on this site with a few more features and fixes

The torque.ip.v6.me.uk is a good starting point if you want to host your own server

The changes that you’ve made are just sweet.

Thanks for considering our proposals.

Keep up the great work

Latest version is now online, changes are:

* Recognises the unit preferences setup in the app

* Notices are now overlaid on the map (as pins, text descriptions to follow)

* Realtime updates (if your vehicle is currently active with torque uploading, it shows a pin on the map)

* Email login (if you use your email address in the web upload settings, you can now view the uploads from multiple devices (and see the realtime updates too))

Todo:

* Password change options
* Show/hide lines option in the graph

I just tried the code from
http://torque.ip.v6.me.uk

It gives me a parse error…anyone had the same experience ?

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘:’ in /is/htdocs/www/torque/datafeed/index.php on line 268

This is the line

$json[$key]['label'] = mysql_fetch_row(my_sql_query("select name from key_name where pid = \"$key\" limit 1"))?:$key;

I have recently started using the Web Interface.

Is there anyway to upload old logs to the webserver?

Hi

Not currently – the web data is slightly different to standard trip or file logging so it makes things (somewhat) more complicated to upload….

I am looking at this as I’ve said I would try to add support to a couple of people, so when I’ve worked it out you will likely see it added.

I’m also going to be improving the ‘realtime upload’ capability of the app as well for people with wifi

I have just started playing with my own server and can’t seem to get anything from the app. I have the correct output (‘OK!’) and the address is correct.. I can get a fake update from the phone browser to work, but nothing from the app.. any ideas. I am testing on my local wifi network ATM, would this affect things?

Thanks

P.S Brilliant app.. congrats on your work..
