I have the torque pro full version on my phone and a bluetooth dongle that reads some things such as coolant temp, vgt cycle…however it won’t give me oil temp, hpop psi readings or the correct ficm voltage or battery voltage reading…any idea?

Have you by any chance ran across this thread?

Thanks, yeah I read through that as well, was thinking maybe something wrong with the obd 2 dongle. ..it’s a vgate?

Some of the cheap clones don’t work
with the older protocols like PWM. If
your adapter is connecting okay its probably
okay.

I would edit and test each pid and remove any
unsuccessful pids.

You mention EOT… are you getting a successful
raw hex response when you test the pid? This
is direct from your vehicle and is a good place
to start troubleshooting.

Connects great, but the EOT just says no response, so does hpop.

You might try changing the header
based upon your protocol in use.

Auto or blank.

Specifics on your vehicle and protocol
would help as well as posting the raw hex
response from your vehicle. (Test while
connected and editing pid).

Thanks will try changing to blank…Bluetooth is a vgate off eBay, my truck is a 04 6.0 powerstroke. .. the message I get when testing is No Response!

No change from auto to blank, while testing it says no response gives me the pid but no hexadecimal

I would expect a 7F… message if not
supported. Long shot… backspace over
the mode/pid field and retype maybe
there’s an extra character?

You still didn’t mention if your protocol
is PWM or CAN. Additional header
values are

C410F1 for PWM

7DF for CAN

Lol yeah I tried the retype the ones not working, didn’t help…it’s a CAN I believe, the other responses from working pids were 7 something. I just ordered a bafx dongle…once I get it I will let u know if it worked…thanks for gelping!!

The bafx dongle worked great, so my guess is the other one is just shitty lol!

I personally have bought (5) BAFX adapters
and (1) OBDLink MX which have all worked
great so far… especially for the older protocols.

Yeah it is pretty awesome. ..v batt is giving me a 225 volt reading is the issue I have now…also does anyone know if the transmission gear info is correct? It reads gears 1-6 but never neutral, park, or reverse?

Is your equation still original? Its
odd that 14 vdc is a raw decimal value
of 224.

A 225 result would require a raw decimal
value of 3600 which exceeds a one byte
response (max 255).

Does it reflect a voltage change between
KOEO and KOER?

What PID are you using for VBATT? My documentation indicates PID 1155 is “VREF” for Powerstroke, but I do not have number of bytes (does not respond on my veh). Could be battery or PCM 5v – IDK.

PID on my 5.4L gasser is 16FC identified as “VBAT FF” (Freeze Frame Battery Voltage – not live) and the formula ((A*256)+B)/1024 produces an accurate battery voltage. I have no documentation indicating live battery voltage is available. IDK ??

The v batt is the same pid that came with the enhanced ford pids…224 and 225 is what it says…no difference koeo or koer. There is another 1 that gives me v batt cm that seems to be correct

My apologies. I just double checked and that is PID #1172, a single byte, and does respond on my F150 5.4L also. The documentation I have assimilated (from numerous sources) identifies it as “VPWR”. (They have dozens of ways to screw us up). Mine reads 225 also. The proper formula is A/16. Gives you a reading of 14.0625 Volts. Min 0 Max 16v.

Thanks. You just helped me sort out one more of the 500 or so PIDs that respond to a Torque Scan! (When Torque Scan works!)

That pid and equation are already included in
the Ford predefined pid set which is why I
pointed out that a result of 225 would exceed
a one byte value with the original equation.

Could you post the raw hex responses at
KOEO and KOER? This should help to see
what Torque is seeing from your vehicle.

(Press TEST during editing pid while
connected to vehicle to see raw hex
response).

The “V Batt CM” data comes from your adapter.
It is equivalent to the ATRV elm command.

I will but I had to leave so I won’t be back home for 2 weeks. …I figured that it was something with the adapter volts.
