But in your log adapter responded to ATSP6 command “OK”,
as in the screenshot at the terminal adapter does not understand this command

is the theme that gives examples of how the adapter must meet the normal firmware

I think this adapter is also with bad firmware
it can only work in standard protocol EOBD

Sorry but I don’t understand
The adapter reads the oil temperature at leadt in another program.
It can’t be that difficult to find a proper adapter..
Anyway If this adapter won’t do i am giving up..

I tried to help you, I ran the program on the emulator Carly and watched what requests it gives, I give them to you, but I do not know what should be the correct answer, so the program Carly I continue to not go without getting the desired response
you need somewhere to find the right PID

can someone do for you sniffing Carly exchange program with your car
can you tell someone you desired Pid

Our English are not so good and that is making even harder than it is.

I dont have anything alse to do.. I will wait hopefully that someone could do something more.

Digging up an old post..

So I have a 2014 N55 435i, and am trying to get the BMW specific pids to work. I found some big long init string that I cant confirm it actually will work or not properly, plus a N47 motor (328d) CSV file for PIDs. I was told though that the file wont work as the ECU info is different.

Candidly I am really surprised at this forum given this appears to be the primary and only way to get support for this app.

The generic pids appear to be working, but after enough reading here, I assuming they are not accurate without the specific setup for my car.

Has anyone figured this out, or can share detailed information? I am all over the primary BMW enthusiast forums and the info isn’t there either.

Thanks.. I was looking at that, but I have already paid for TP, so not sure why I would run Carly? (side note, aren’t they a competitor to TP?) I would run that if I knew it would work accurately, but I really need to get this figured out.

The application is free, I suggested that you try it, if it works, you can see the diagnostic log in the log of this application

I found that you don’t need the init command.
Could you try F1300E01?
The formula should be ((r2*256)+r3)*0.1

I’ve managed to grab a list of PIDs for BMW and uploaded them here:

Feel free to request write access if you want to contribute.

Please note:
The column “PID” may contain huge sequences that may or may not include special init codes. Most of the time the PID should be around 8 characters long.
Example:
PID: 8412F12C100458
To be used by Torque: 2C100458

PIDs are unique in their own special way: A PID doesn’t yield two or more values of two or more different sensors but it can give you two values at once for the same sensor. You will spot a lot of PIDs that are not unique. Don’t bother about them yet…

The conversion and factor of every PID can be calculated by using the columns “Factor” and “Correction”:
Example: Oil Temperature of N47 Engine:
Formula: (INT16(R2:R3)*0,01)-100
Which means: Take Bytes 2 and 3 from the response times factor of 0,01 and apply the correction of -100

I’ve created a new document for research. The idea is that every engine gets its own sheet. Currently I’m probing n43 and n54 engines. I’m pretty sure about the n54.
