I recently installed this fantastic app and I have the exact problem with my BMW F20. I can’t get the oil temp. although it is available through the hidden menu of my car.
Do we have a solution yet?

Admin or someone
I tried 2C10044D which suppose could bring the Engine Oil but nothing happend

Mode PID:2C10044D
Min-Max Value = -40 | 215
scale X1
Equation = A-40
OBD Header = auto | blank

I am getting no DATA | No Response

Any ideas or thoughts how to make it work please?

You’ll need to make sure you’ve used the init string that the original poster says is important (this will set the adapter up to allow the correct request to be sent in the way the ECU expects it)

It *might* also be possible to use the ‘start diagnostic command’ box to do this as well, then use the ‘stop diangostic commad’ to put the adapter back to normal operation afterwards (so that Mode 01 PIDs still work) which is likely more what you’re after

Well, I am just a user who needs to make a custom BMW PID to get engine oil temperature

The closest help I found is this thread but to be honest I don’t understand most of the information, because it is out of my general knowledge

Basically by trial and error I am trying to figure out how I can get the result

User FntX says in an earlier post that “” If only Torque would be able to send “overlength” PIDs, that would be great””

From that I assumed (apparently wrong) that afterwards the task would be easy.. that’s why I tried with no success the following

Mode PID:2C10044D
Min-Max Value = -40 | 215
scale X1
Equation = A-40
OBD Header = auto | blank

I thought that this could make it happen..

So right now, I don’t even know what else I could try because as I said earlier in general most of the previous conversation is out of my knowledge

I have the time and patient to try things but I need some help of what to try..

for example you say “”lay out screenshots of the adapter section””

meaning what??

What do you mean “try external pid?”

No it is not working. In addition all others instruments didn’t work too. It could not connect to the ECU properly. Only battery voltage only..
When I deleted the string and restart application, it was ok as previous..
