Ok – 1092 gets a response of 5092 – and yes I have 7e0 as the header.

i just tried it again and got a response on 22b010 – 255 in park, and 43 in gear . . . Seems a little low? Wondering if the 3e01 wakeup thats correct for the 07-10 was cancelling out the 1092 code earlier?

edit:

OK – after inputting the calculation – ((A*256)+B)*(1/64)- seems to give me round the 140 mark – guessing this is in F? that would be about 60C which would be about right considering its been parked for 40 minutes or so….

You are correct. Result would be in °F.

((((A*256)+B)*(1/64))-32)*(5/9) for °C

Are you saying that your lights didnt go off
using 1092 this time?

Did you execute this command only once
using test or did you add it to your dashboard
where it was being scanned continuously when
it started working?

Awesome!!! Will just convert it back to C so it makes more sense to me – and it will finally be working!

No – no lights this time…. perhaps another code I had tried earlier was causing the lights to go off once 1092 was entered…

I’ve tried it both ways – now running it on the dashboard behind the temp gauge and it seems to be working fine. Will keep playing over the next couple of days when I get a chance to drive the car and see how it goes.

Will have a quick look before leaving for work in the morning and see if it matches the coolant temp….

Checked the temp in the morning – 17 on the Trans – 20 on the Coolant (bit optimistic as it wasn’t that warm in the garage…)

Driving last night – seemed to react about as I’d expect – temps round the 50-70 Deg C mark – with 12 deg ambient temp.

Looks like its working at last!

Hi!

I’ve been watching this with interest. I’m doing some work on the PID editing this weekend. Expect some improvements especially for the bits for Jeep transmission temperature PIDs and look for the ‘predefined’ transmission PIDs for jeep/chrysler vehicles (and possibly mercedes) if I manage to get things working satisfactorily.

12° here is just about as cold as it gets! Will be keeping a close eye on the temps when its 40° and we are in the soft sand. . .

If you have any testing you need a hand with let me know – can normally get time most nights to havea play withit if necessary.

Main change is to allow the use if the enable command without the need for it to be in a PID (this is mainly for pre-canbus vehicles – i’m not sure it’s needed on canbus vehicles themselves)

I’ll be adding some basic PIDs in to the app in the release as well – they’ll be beta and some based on the information here, and people should be able to use/play with them if I have things correctly setup

I have been waiting for this for over a year for my 2011. Could you please review the whole process for your 2011. I have tried making changes noted on Jeep forums, but have had no luck. I have no OBD II knowledge, so post in layman’s terms please. I also have suggested in the past that someone use Drive app to determine what is needed. The author of that app had it working on my 2011 in short order, but all it does is trams temp. Thank you.

OK step by step:

1) From the main menu – go ‘settings’ then ‘Manage exra PIDs/sensors’

2) Go to ‘Add customer PID’

3) 1st PID is the wakeup PID: options as below:

4) 2nd PID is the trans temp:

5) Insert both the wakeup PID as an item on the dashboard (any gauge type) and the trans temp.
Ignore the fact I have both C and F on mine – was for testing, and normally you would hide the wakeup behind the temp gauge….

I got this to work, but temps average 95*F. That seems too low for normal operation. Unless maybe the pickup/sensor is located on the cooled side of the tranny fluid lines. Anyone know?

Also, any chance on getting oil temp to work?

I’m sorry but I’m a newbie. Can you dumb it down for me and give me the info either line by line or ideally, with screen prints?

Am I altering the one I set up previously or creating a new one? I guess I could create a new one and run them side by side for comparison, right?

is the above proven to give correct tranny temp readings (ie, compared to another gauge)?

Can you verify the trans equation
and post a test response for a
known temperature (like cold
from overnight)?

Would like to see raw data.

I have edited my previous posting
for more clarity. The info given was
found in a dodge/chrysler forum for
possible oil temp.

EDIT: I think you asked for a known temp reading on the trans temp gauge. When cold yesterday, it was within a degree of outside air temp, which was about 70*F.

Please see two screen shots below of the new oil temp settings you gave me (info wouldn’t all fit in one pic). Tell me if I got it right please. And the screen shot showing tranny temp that I’m using as requested (sorry it’s crooked)
